The Role: Senior Risk IT Specialist
Duties & Responsibilities: Senior Risk IT Specialist needed for supporting large Market/Credit Risk IT projects. This role will not have any direct reports but the position holder will be responsible for delivery across applications and Level 3 support of the applications. The position holder needs to provide level 3 support, do hands on development in technologies stated below and help with offshoring initiatives/vendor management/staff recruitment.
Specific Requirements:
- Provide level 3 support for the applications identified
- Develop/make enhancements to solutions (both hands on and through others) using various technologies including Oracle, Java, Drools, C# .Net, SQL Server, Unix shell scripting, etc. using various development tools
- Extract, formulate and document detail requirements from the stakeholders and translate them into functional specifications for IT development
- Work with various Risk IT stakeholders to understand the requirements in order to define a solution design that meets the business and technical needs
- Excellent problem solving skills & analytical skills and the ability to present ideas/solutions clearly and concisely
- Able to re-engineer processes by leveraging existing global / regional systems and models
- Must have excellent people and team building skills. Must be able to work collaboratively with managers, peers and staff
- Should have an ability to be flexible and proactive in solving problems and issues for Operations staff
- Must have a ‘can do’ approach
- Familiar with downstream Operations IT systems and processes
- Evaluate and challenge both the requirements and solution to ensure the bank resources are used in the most efficient manner
- True team player with strong influencing skills
- Supporting Regional Management Heads in managing the regional IT roadmap
- The role is cross group (across Market, Credit Risk and Finance) thereby serving as a common layer across streams and ensuring we leverage / share best practices and synergies where possible
- Support key resource hiring by project teams
Skills required:
Ideal candidates should have the following requisites:
- Excellent interpersonal / relationship building skills and able to successfully manage cross functional relationships
- 12+ Years IT experience, preferably from top tier banks, strong domain knowledge
- Good understanding of Market and Credit Risk processes
- Risk management experience, i.e., Basel-3, Dodd-Frank, Market Risk/Credit Risk, an advantage
- Experience across all aspects of IT project management – initiation, planning, tracking/monitoring, closure
- Experience across all aspects of IT – requirements, design, development, testing, release and support
- Good understanding of Risk/control environments
- Hands on development experience in at least the following technologies: Oracle, SQL Server, Java, C# .NET and Unix
- Ability and willingness to learn newer technologies quickly
- Must be passionate about change and driving project delivery
- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and understand how to prioritise
- Must be able to communicate with front-to-back stakeholders and have the ability to build networks globally and regionally
- Must be able to work independently with minimal managerial input
- Must have experience with working in a global team environment
